The place I am stationed is a remote town and has a very basic market in the name of shopping. Durga Puja was approaching and I had to shop. I went to the local market and came back even more frustrated. Shouted on my fauji husband as to how messed up my life is– the frequent postings, staying away from city and now nothing to shop. He nodded in agreement and quietly sneaked out faking to attend a phone call; as he always does.
I had no choice or did I?
In my frustration, I shopped and shopped like hell let loose. Online shopping zindabad!
After trying firstcry and flipkart, today Jabong took my fancy owing to its excellent collection of women wear.
I checked my pincode with Jabong and it said, yes we deliver at your location. I was ecstatic. There was no stopping me now.
5 Good Points of Shopping with Jabong
1. Drool worthy women wear collection
The range of women wear is extensive and that too in the budget section. Online shopping with jabong for the first time, I preferred a conservative method and decided to shop within a budget of Rs 1000 fearing that even if it falls flat there won’t be much dent in my pocket.
2. Website features
Jabong has easy website navigation and no unnecessary interference. I hate those pop-ups, Can I assist you? Did you check this? Arrey! Give me a breather please, I am already at your site and intending to shop.
I was completely spoilt for choices. However, there are other women fashion websites that will simply make you fall in love with clothing like Utsav and Yellow fashion but in a comparative study, Jabong had an upper edge, the Your Saved Items feature.
Thanks for the awesome feature of Your Saved Items. There were so many things I liked and this feature saved everything I liked in a side panel and when I am done I could check this list and make my final choice.
The shopping experience was quite similar to that in my local saree shop where the salesman would lovingly say “arre didi jo pasand aa raha hai woh side mei rakh dijiyey, baad mei un mei se select kar lijiyega” (Sister, keep aside anything and everything you like. You can decide later). This statement itself makes you so comfy that you keep sitting and shopping there while hours pass by.
3. Easy to place order with Jabong
I ordered a plazzo pant and a matching top. The dress size guidelines were appropriately given and that helped me to decide easily. Placing an order was easy and prompt which I think is with most sites. Well, it is that one page from where there revenue comes so they better keep it polished always J
4. They have a magazine too..Oh la la
I am a blogger/writer and these things do make a difference to me. I totally love a brand that has a juicy magazine. Why not? It tells a lot about their aesthetic sense. This implies that they value product quality more than blatant selling. Isn’t that good for shoppers?
The Juicy magazine talks about lots of funs tuff. I read it cover to cover. I knew somehow I can trust Jabong.
5. Strong social media presence
I am addicted to Twitter. That is my place to connect with the brands if something goes wrong with my purchase and even if I want to applaud them. I do judge a company by its Twitter presence and Jabong got brownie points for that too.
Jabong’s social media presence is good. They were prompt in reverting back. Not that something went wrong. I just said I loved shopping with you guys (was testing water actually) and they promptly reverted with a thanks.
Well, that’s all I had to say. I loved the quality of dress and it did fit perfectly well. I wore it with aplomb during Durga Puja and got a few accolades. I am keeping an eye on their Diwali sale and this time I will buy without any skpeticism.
So, which is your favourite website for online shopping?

I see you don’t monetize your site, don’t waste your traffic, you can earn additional bucks every
month. If you want to read about this method,

Great post, thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Sam. So, what did you buy from jabong?
flipkart sounds good… and once watckart saved me from a lot of labour :-/
Yes, flipkart even I am a big fan too for initally only that was a decent one. but now with onset of so many and better shopping options, I am drifted away from it.
Watchkart, I am yet to try my hands on.
Hmmm when I realised I was turning a shopaholic I put the chain… now I do only if I need anything … and except for shoes (jabong), tees/shirts (snapdeal) I rely fk only… watchkart prices were not better than fk but it helped with an internation shipping which others denied, so i owe to them…. Sigh…. happy shopping!
