Located around 25km from Kumily, Vandanmedu is one of the reasons why they call Kerala God’s Own Country. As you drive towards Vandanmedu on Thekkady-Munnar road, faint whiffs of cardamom in the wind give way to heady aromas of the spice by the time you reach here. This region is among the largest auction centers for cardamom in the world. The drive to Vandanmedu is scenic with views of rolling hills, misty valleys, and expanses of lush plantations accompanying you. One of the best places to visit in Kerala , you must visit Vandanmedu with family during your Thekkady holiday.
All seasons except monsoons are moderate in the region but the best time to visit Thekkady and Vandanmedu is from September to March. These months are cool but pleasant–—apt for a family vacation .
The ideal time to visit this beautiful location is during early morning hours when the air is most pristine and the environs most magical. There are many things to do and see in Vandanmedu. Following is a well-curated list of holiday activities you may enjoy with family here.
Leisurely strolls in cardamom plantations

You may witness the commercial bustle made enjoyable due to the strong aroma of the spice at Vandanmedu.
